    Outboard prop pitch?

Who knows about prop pitch? I've got a plylite fisherman with a 85 Johnson on it. The prop on at the moment is a 13x19. The boat struggles with the people on to get to plane. I have another here but don't know what it is.
    What do the numbers mean?

One is diameter and the other is pitch in inches per turn. More pitch=faster if you have the horse less pitch= better out of hole.

Always have used a 19 on nearly all my boats, down to a 17 for out of the hole ski tug, try looking at fitting some wings to it like I think they called dolphin? They will certainly help. 17 will probably give you to many revs for cruising. And make it thirsty

Trimming your boat properly makes a big difference to getting it up also.
Heaps of weight down the back and motor trimmed up at cruise trim will point the bow at the sky and make it hard to get out of the water. If its doing that move some weight forward and trim it in/down until up on plane then trim out for cruise economy.
