Supposedly do but on my older ranger I don't feel it needs it.

Had ine on my navara made a world of difference. Mainly used it to ramped the throttle up when towing . Sort of sounded like on my petrol navara like a Ford escort with a ranflo filter in from back in the day .

Mate used one on his ranger - worked out he had to take it off every few weeks and reset the computer in it then refit it. Seems that the PCM in some of the rangers anyway learns and renders the piggyback device no longer useful until the system is reset. After a few rounds of that he had the exhaust done, and the PCM remapped. That worked until he took it back into a dealer to get it serviced - and they reset the map back to factory. He had to take it back to the remapping outfit to get it reflashed again, bit of a pain in the arse.

Do the likes of adding throttle controllers nullify vehicle warranty? I don’t need one; simply curious.

Been thinking about getting one of these for a while as Im also annoyed at the lag on my MR Triton. Any thoughts on brands that are good? as there look to be a few different ones out there.

I have the Hikeit, works really well through the gears, no turbo lag at all, won't give you any extra at the top end,
But you will get to the top end a lot faster.

But my 2c on vehicles to look at:
My hunting truck is a 2015 hilux d-cab - but the older n70 shape with the 3l in it, not the newer 2.8

Mine has been absolutely bullet proof - has 330k on it and I only use it for hunting so can sit for a month before being driven and always starts first pop and takes me wherever I need to go and back.

Being the 2015 it’s had all the kinks worked out over the older motors.

The tritons are still worth looking at though and you’ll find a much nicer condition one with lower kms than a hilux for the same $$
Yeah I do have on of those. Even when set to the top number there is that lull before it kicks in. When I put my foot down hard the truck seems to sit there then depending on what setting it’s on depends on haw hard it boosts. There’s always that lull though. Might need to try a different controller. I would love a tune and DPF delete, but not the n the cards atm
