Well when I had to replace 2 of the BFG MT's on my truck the cost of 4 new "any other brand" tyres was a lot more than just buying 2 more BFG MT's.

Think he was saying you could get 8 tyres of a different brand for the price of 4 coopers. I’ve got cooper stt pros, they perform well off and on road, but they’re wearing pretty fast.

me too, had to buy a new pair for the rear of my truck after slicing one irreparably, just got new warrens last week with 25k kms on the rears and 95k kms on the front, still approx 4mm tread left on them, its my daily hack rather than a purist 4wd
I feel thats pretty good value for money from them ?

The biggest pain I have found with our Colorado is that it has bloody big mag rims and lowish profile tyres so the mags take a hammering when you parallel park it in snug in with the gutter. Well not me cause I don't drive it I expect that replacement tyres will be bloody expensive as well.

I’ll be surprised if I get 40k out of my coopers before they’re useless for off-road

Should be only the front right tyre showing wear? Tyres are only made so tough and carting that massive Mellon you have all the time would stress any tyre

Have coppers road tiers on my L200 at the moment very happy have done 20000miles sick like you know what and braking cornering has improved out of site. Also flue economy seems to be better.
Haven't tried there off road types but these in the snow of last February were pritty dame good for what they are.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along

whatever tyres you buy make sure they are a relatively new model and wont be discontinued soon. i fitted 4 brand new goodyears on a vehicle 6 months ago then about 3 weeks back the wife managed to rip out a sidewall on one . i couldnt get a replacement anywhere so had to change both front tyres to keep them the same
