    Boots

Has anyone had experience with the Iowa Rangers or the Meindl Island how do they compare against each other.

I had both: Meindls first then Lowas
I have wide, short, high feet and the Rangers fit best - it all depends on the shape of your foot!

Never had any longevity problems with either.

I've had a pair of rangers for 2 and bit years and they've been brilliant. Rand is coming away in a couple of little spots but apart from that I can't fault them.

honestly i dont know, they were nicely broken in, stitching all fine then 1/2 way up a hill the entire front of the sole was flapping around like a landed fish.

I’m on my second pair of rangers, seem to fit me well and easy to get out of, first pair the rand came away which had to be glued, sounded like it was a common fault, second pair are better.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

Have used Meindls for 20 years. Great boots if you look after them. Mine are wet a lot too but looked after. Have had a pair of Lowas recently. Just as good. Lowas seem to have slightly softer rubber in the soles but splitting hairs. Would say Lowas are wider than Meindls too. Either would be good.

On my second pair of Sportivas but this pair have just gone to the repair shop to see if they can be fixed as both toe rands are coming unglued. They are my winter go to boot as they can take a crampon if needed, my summer boots are Grisport hikers the best and most comfortable light boot I have owned.
