    Mine definitely not $3... https://www.bivouac.co.nz/sea-to-sum...um-pillow.html

But 5 years old, still going strong, small enough that it always goes with me, and has definitely improved the quality of sleep while camping.

Also I tend to pack alot lighter now than I used to, so have a lighter weight sleeping bag, and sleep in more clothes - which was when I discovered not having enough spare clothes to use as a makeshift pillow really sucks!

Another vote for sea to summit. Packs down very small.

So far the KMart pillow has served me well on a couple of outings. Big improvement over stuffing clothes into a stuff sack.

In keeping with my "everything in my pack should have more than one function wherever possible" ....... I use the lumber pad of my pack as a pillow.
If its not high enough, a couple of short pieces of firewood under the pack fixes that.
Or if in a hut with a mattress, slip some firewood under the mattress itself Not everyone's cup of tea though I know.
And while were on the firewood trick.... a couple of pieces on the ground under the tent fly is my rifles bed for the night, keeping it up off the damp ground.

Don't get me started. Had multiple inflatable pillows, the best being the Sea to Summit Aeros pillow - lightly inflated. But still couldn't get past the "this is a comfortable inflatable (not real) pillow" feeling. Splurged on a Teton pillow. It's heavy, bulky and comfortable, particularly when stuffed in a game bag with a puffer jacket and vest thrown in. Have justified its existence by packing it in my Twin Needle bumbag which gets packed on tops trips. Use it as a rifle back rest, and to protect the scope when strapped (use my quilt straps) to the pack... and I use the bumbag for hunting from base camp. Sleep is important.

Have one of these https://goosefeetgear.com/products/down-pillows/ with a Klymit pillow inside.
Pretty good. Luxurious actually use it in the camper too.
Sea to Summit good also with the Velcro attachment.
Will chuck up a photo tomorrow.
Thermarest compressible good as well but a bit bulky.

I use a Dry bag with my puffer inside and scoop some air into it before closing it. The air doesn’t leak out and you can put as much air or clothing in it as you want. 15-20ltr.

    Thanks for the replies.
I ended up buying the Sea to Summit Aeros UL in large. 70g which is very light and compact when in stuff sack. The common advice was for side sleepers a thicker pillow is good. This is 14cm thick which is quite high for inflatables.
In stuff sack (hat for scale)
