Thread: The flashlight sticky

Around the time when we were developing the maxtoch hunting torches we tested a few red and green output lights. Didn't do enough testing to be conclusive, but the red beam did not travel as far as the green, and bunnies were quieter with red beam than green. We didn't try them on bigger animals. US guys report green beam very good on 'hogs' out in open fields.

A Texas mate who does some development work with us on Maxtochs will shortly do a review on the red and green Maxtoch 2X variants - will post it when it happens. The red and green led 2Xs don't use the same higher (1500 lumen) output led as the white light 2X. The coloured leds are just 270 lumens so I suspect it will be more of a pencil beam, but range at 750-850m max is very impressive for coloured beam lights. We'll see what the review says..
