Never understood why you would put a brick on top of a hunting rifle. They absolutely serve their purpose for the places they are designed for like getting a hammering in military use but when it comes time for the shot in a hunting situation the high end lightweight options will not put you at any disadvantage. If you are worried about throwing the thing off a cliff then maybe you are overthinking it?
