There's probably some fancy tie method that sorts it if you hunt around on Youtube. Need to do that.
Try poking laces through eyelets from other direction on 2nd from last hole...makes them sort of bind up and hold better.

    Thanks @Micky Duck
Not quite sure what you mean by "other direction". Mostly I thread laces from the underside of the eyelet. So, are you suggesting going from the eyelet top side ?

I’ve had the Salewa Rapace before and they were pretty good, really comfy and lightweight with good ankle support.
Currently got the Crispi Valderes and liking them so far. I’m hoping they stay waterproof a bit longer than the Salewas did.

I was wearing Soloman 4D GTX boots for a while and there bloody nice, no need to break them in, just go.

When I wore out my last pair I bought a pair of Lowe Z6 boots as they were cheaper than buying another pair of solomans.

    The Z6’s are great.

One thing I always recommend with most boots is get a pair of orthopaedic inner soles as most boots manufacturers (Lowa, meindl) and I’ll assume others just supply there boots with a budget useless inner sole.

A better inner sole makes a huge different in comfort and looking after your feet.

Probably not first choice for heavy packs on big hills but light and fast for a day or two get out there and smack over a animal and head home again kind of thing they're great. Comfy enough to wear to town and I even wear them to ride my mountain bike but provide just enough support to keep you facing the right way up for a day or two hunting
same here, Roclite Pros I think mine are, not a full on tramping boot but light and comfy. Gets worn as much to work at the office on a wet day (biking to work) as they do in the field... Not sure they do them any more, but these look similar to mine...

half the weight of my tramping boots, good enough with a light pack.

Yes...it works with dees and hooks so SHOULD work with eyelets too. I learnt the trick with new boots by doing it half way down laces row. Experiment....nothing to loose bud.

Actually....try doing the military way.with one end going from top to bottom and the other going around and around from base to top....it sure as heck makes it easier to get them tight.

+1 for the light weight Salewa's. I think the best boots I have ever worn were a pair of Salewa Condor, unfortunately they don't make them anymore. I wore them every day straight for 3 seasons in the Northern Rockies, never missed a beat until my wrangler did me a "favour" and dried them out too close to the stove, melting the toe caps.... was a sad day.

They appear to be very similar like the Crispi Summits, cant comment on them though.

What model do you have? Do they make boots suitable for Tahr Hunting in Say May?

Just bought my second pair of Salomon boots. Super comfy, lightweight, but still stiff enough to look after your ankles.

I've also tried the Salomon Quest Element GTX. That's the cheaper/lighter version of the Quest 4D. Just on my first pair of those, but happy so far, reasonable grip, nice & light, and so far very comfy. I did go with some quality footbeds / inners, which I agree makes a difference. All north island wear, bush hobbit through to Kaweka tops, seem to be wearing okay so far.

I have just spent 4 nights in the southern alps tahr hunting in very steep and snowy conditions. I wore my Repaces, and coincidently my hunting mate (an ex alpine guide) had the same model Salewa. They are definitely up to alpine hunting.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
