    Lite weight hunting boots

Need to replace my old boots, has any one found some nice lite weight boots suitable for sneaking around in the dry for the old weirly sika stags?
Had some in the past but the cheap ones don't last.
In my opinion many of the better boots are a bit heavy unless your off to very rough country
    Feed back appreciated as always

I have Salewa Rapace GTX and Meindl Litepeak. I think the Meindls are better made and will last longer, although they're slightly heavier and more expensive. The Salewas have done the better part of a summer of field work and are about half stuffed

Have used 'fives' (five individual toe things, pain in the arse to put on) before and they are super quiet, even less ankle support though.

TJM, have a look at the Salomon range of boots also. there are a few threads on this forum on them. Come in a range of heights. i like them for hunting in softer country and when not lugging a heavy pack in.

Up here Lowa-Z8N-GTX or something similar are good as they’re not too rigid. I have a pair as does my old man. We have always only used Asic gel shoes over the last 25 odd years for comfort and quietness but these Lowa are real good imo.

Still stick with my "Bullers," they are out of production now so have to cut down the "Ashleys"

ASHLEYS work for me...trick in wet weather, put gaiters over your boots and the trousers over top of them both....water goes down outer trou and feet stay dry all day.

I got the lowa mention above, but the last few hunts I have done in some warehouse Watersport shoes, and it is definitely quieter. No anckle support but less chances of ripping a toe appart than the five fingers.and from memory they are under $30.

Ive got the Salewa Rapace too. Done a couple of trips and like them. No breaking in, good grip and light. Only expect them to last a couple of years. On sale at macpac.
