I bought the warthog sharpener the other day, got it home, had a play with it and just didn't like it. Does an ok job but just not the same as some nice hand stones. I've had the lansky as well but just couldn't get into that either.
I've got a set of water stones and you can bang out a knife bloody quick, if you really need to rip down a damaged edge a course stone will do it bloody quick. I only ever go as fine as 1080 grit and that's a smooth edge and razor sharp. Once you get hang of the angles it's bloody easy. Not for everyone, but for me it's quite relaxing.
