    Had this beauty made for me by @Shelley from a piece of antler I picked up in Fiordland.

    Gave it a good workout yesterday breaking down the three Red yearlings I shot.

    I would have liked it to be practical as well... Never used a gut hook before, going by how it couldn't cut through the sides of a paper bag I have my doubts @Gibo I prefer a 20ft pole so I can stay out of trouble. It does look a bit medieval for something to carry every day

    I can sharpen it up for you if you want. Might take a bit of work but...

    Cheers for the offer but I'm getting there slowly wih my stone, had a mate give it a tidy up with his linisher and belt sander
