Got my "Jack" in the mail today, made by forum member @Nga
Very happy, nice knife and the more I look at it and handle it the more the blade shape just makes absolute sense as a good allrounder, can't wait to get some blood on it :)

How's this for a knife boys and girls. Some real bragging rights with this pig sticker

Bark River arrived today. First decent knife I’ve owned. It’s sharp but could be better...normal to get a new knife that needs sharpening? If so, is it recommended to get someone who has dealt with CPM 3V before to sharpen or can any local sharpener do it? Plan is to learn to do myself but at this stage have no experience with sharpening.
Cheers

Looks like someone's had a go at sharpening it on a belt sander
Yeah new from DLT. Think it may just be the light in the photo...but would one expect it to be super sharp from factory?

Thanks. Will do. Regards my question...can any Tom dick and harry knife sharpener sharpen this or is it more of a “specialist” task?
You don’t want to let any clown on that blade. 3V is a great steel but I find it tough to sharpen as it’s quite hard. That blade is convex grind so will want to be stropped for maintenance and for anything further get some water stones or similar fine grit stone. I have a Spyderco stone which is good. @Tahr is the right man to ask. I think he has shares in BRK now.
