Old man used to use beeswax melted in turps to rewaterproof our Xmas holiday canvas camping tent. Warm up the turps on the stove, thrown big lumps of beeswax in, wait till its melted, stick in old vacumn cleaner spray bottle thingie, on vacumn cleaner that permitted you to connect to the blow side, and spray paint the erected tent. Leave tent up a week to get rid of the turps pong and viola! fully waterproof canvas tent. Good for a couple of years from memory.
