    What topo app for iphone

As described, ideally wanting doc hunting area overlay as well as satellite imagery. Tried pocket maps but it’s playing up big time.

    Cheers

Make sure you get the right one. Costs 6 bucks. A lot of people on a tramping forum I'm on get some different weird ones that you have to individually download each area you want. This one is all available offline. IT'S GOOD.

Yep brilliant app. When you find that primo spot, track or nice wallow you can mark it, take a photo and notes and save it in the app.

It is. iHike-GPS is what I use for navigation (i.e. most of the time) with NZ Topo50 for satellite and DOC overlays.

I’ve had ihike before and the nz Topo50 seems a lot more user friendly?

The only issue I have with Topo50 is the free rotate function doesn’t work. Pain in the arse when trying to navigate to a waypoint.

I guess it comes down to personal preference. I don't like waypoint management on NZ Topo50, but will give it another go at some point.

My only gripe with topo50 is you can't delete or hide built in waypoints which makes finding your own ones a bit of a pain

Go into search then tap selection in bottom left corner to use your own selection of waypoints.
