Anyone joined the NZ Game Bird Hunters Association?

Toying with the idea of joining NZGBH association.

I live in the Waikato, (Pirongia) and soot geese at the coast. I would like to think the association will allow me to meet more people and hunt new spots. I have been self taught so far and would like to improve in every aspect of the sport.

What are members experiences with the NZGBHA?

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I know this thread is old but I have just arrived in Hamilton from the Uk and a keen waterfowler. Was looking at joining as well to get me some contacts for shooting in the area. How did you get on? Any advice regarding finding areas to shoot much appreciated. In the UK there is virtually nowhere to shoot. over here I don't know where to start!!!

    Cheers

well kev if you ever want to take a trip down chchristchurch way would be more than happy to accomodate you on a wee spot of gooseshooting out at lake ellesmere.
theres nothing quite as satisfying as seeing a guest drop a bird on one of your outings ,and god knows theres plenty of the buggers.we have both canada and feral geese(AKAgreyling) so theres always game to be had. permits etc we can get you sorted in a matter of an hour or so.

A feral goose is a greylag goose not a greyling.

Like Shoota said, but there are a few public lakes in your area you could have a look at. If you find nothing near you and are willing to travell I know a large lake in the far north that is under utilised and is needing more shooters on it to keep the birds moving.
