Oh well, I dont think Ive ever seen a pukeko flying, so that is that I guess.
They do fly, but generally not far. Reason for this is they look like Takahe which is flightless. So if you hit a flying one it is a pukey, but on the ground it is possible to be a Takahe....(As NZDA found out....)
