Thread: Wairoa/Mahia area pheasants

Hi all.

I’m in Mahia for a few days and should have a bit of spare time to get out for a rooster. Is there any public land to chase pheasants within say 45-60 min drive of Mahia beach? Will have my gwp with me. Feel free to private message if you would rather.

No public or fish and game land all is private or forestry which needs permits, try a bit of door knocking you never know

Door knock around Mahanga. Failing that get a permit from JNL in Gizzy to get into their blocks around there. Reasonable numbers in places
