Hard wiring a socket(s) might be the way forward then. I fish Kaikoura where it gets really deep really quickly so need a full day’s worth of power for two reels in at least 200m of water. I’m getting the impression that power banks are not going to be up to the task but I’m reluctant to install a second battery in a small boat. Guess that’s where these portable jump starters come into their own.

Hard wire the sockets in, onto you existing battery(with circuit breaker disconnect), and leave motor running when using. You should be good to go.
From memory the plug and socket was about $60-70. Cb maybe the same.
Oh and spare cord was from aliexpress.

Twin batteries, installed 1 socket under the mid point of both gunnels, brought a extra cable for the reel (beastmaster 9000), cut the clips off and put a plug on it.
Can use reel either side no issues. Plus have the clipped cable if on a mates boat.
However, the main mate that I would use the reel with also has the same socket/plug set up, so we can swap around easy as.

I use electric reels and have always had hard wired into house battery - connected to plugs in cockpit. Mate uses a ‘standard’ size motorbike battery on his boat and gets a good day worth of drops fishing for hapuku
Personally having used both systems find hard wire option great - its a set and forget option- no worries about remembering to charge battery or take it!

If you use electric eels as bait they become self powered

Don’t use a jump start pack, they have electrical circuits in them and salt water stuffs them real quick.

I just run 18ah dry cell batteries and they last a full days fishing out Kaikoura.

Like you I have a single battery setup but put a good size battery in and it would have not trouble running the reel. Remember they are only working for 4-5min at a time per lift.
