    I would like to help but sadly we have nothing less than $2500. In fact that is the cheapest small unit we do.
    I would look at Garmin as their support (once you can contact an actual real person) is really good.
    Simrad and Lowrance may have somthing in that price bracket.
    Simrad is more intuitive for kiwis to operate. Lowrance generally more intuitive for US operators. Its just the way the menus etc are arranged.
