    A new product

Dehydrated bait, come's in Squid/ mackerel/and mixed chunks(squid and makrel ready for the hook) and burley bombs.
What do the guys on here who fish bait a shitload think? is this gimickey??.I remember when soft baits first came to NZ after id had been using them in Aus and apart from the action imparted into the soft bait, part of the pitch was oderless no smelly fish smell. This stuff is still smelling like fish so tell me what you think the benefits would be.
example would be good for taking to remote areas?? like Stewart Island.
or its a shit idea and seams pointless.

Bro for me fresh is always best. I load the freezer full of skippys and trevally. Wrapped in newspaper they are as good as fresh when thawed.
And when burlying/ chunking and baiting my hook for that matter you cant beat a freshly killed kahawai, trevally or mack.

Only benifit I can see is like you said for getting it to a remote spot.

I would only buy salted or frozen but as gibo says fresh is best so I keep the occasional small kahawai and vaccuum pack it before freezing to keep the quality as good as possible.

In terms of squid I will only ever but the food grade calamari. Its nice an d white. The brown shit you buy as bait is not even half as effective IMO.

Salted pipis are mean, they go like rubber and last a few fish. But as Gibo said fresh bait trumps all

Oooooo you are right there bro, Salted Pipi's and Tuatua's are bloody good. I guess what the theme here is, catch it fresh and either use it, freeze it or salt it and store it. It is still in essence fresh ish ha ha

This stuff has been around a little while & I've tried it but personally I think its rubbish .
Like Gibo & others I think fresh is very good too but I also salt my bonito & find I get a better catch rate /average size.Especially on the Kontiki I find by alternating baits fresh & salted I get far better results than just fresh bait.
The commercially salted stuff has bad all the goodies removed where as my own is swimming in oil & juice.

Other than the remote area reason I myself cant see a benefit either ,right behind fresh and salted is soft baits and lures so I cant see how they might think this is of much benefit.Sort of like ultra bite! good but sort of didn't take off.

Yeah, cant see it would have much scent/oil dispersion once wet again either. Dehydrating does remove all(dam near) moisture. Will be a bit left but neh its a shit idea.

Yep I think it has a small purpose but just another gimmick to add to the thousand other people trying to make a dollar out of the fishing game.
