The extent of this clean varies from one oil soaked patch to a full copper and carbon clean usually around the 50r mark.
I cant pick the first shot out of a 3 shot cold clean group with amaxes tho it would undoubtedly be slower.
Barnes it seems to chuck the first on a cold clean barrel about 1 inch high and half a inch left @ 100y. Not enough to concern me
My marlin XS7S may only be worth $1000 new but to me it is the only centerfire I have and I like to look after it and can not stand the idea of putting it in the cupboard knowing the barrel is dirty from being fired. I have never had a rifle throw its first shot on a cold clean barrel every other rifle I have had, have always been bang on right from first shot. Now that I have fully floated the barrel and bedded the recoil lug I am hoping to get some range time when my boy comes up from Blenheim so he can get some trigger time on the rimfire at the same time.

I mentioned it in an earlier post. I removed the front pressure pads from the stock to make the barrel fully free floating I then sanded the left rail of the barrel channel where the barrel was making contact with the stock and I epoxy bedded the recoil lug area.
