@Tentman I think, unfortunately, the thread title is a bit counterproductive, and everyone is just reading it and jumping in to respond with their thoughts to the title.

The nuanced significance of the unreliability of conclusions drawn from 3 shot groups can be found in post 19 here https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....cision-103608/

After reading this and related threads I'd never adjust my zero based on a 3 shot group. It would show whether I'm roughly within the known cone of fire for my rifle, or whether something had gone horribly wrong with my scope. That's all.

    So not completely useless

There's a high probability that the top one would prove to be the better load.

Same load same rifle. Need more data. Fire a 3 shot group with it and you could get either result. Not terribly informative.

Nope, just the variation you get in 3-rd groups. The operator can shoot consistent 10rd groups with a precise system, no issues there

Does your zero ever shift very far?

Used to wander a bit with wooden stock rifles. Now running synthetic tikkas and vx3s. No POI shift

I don't have any. They go in the bin when I leave the range

Two and half squares height difference....something else changed, range, position, wind, calmness, amount of sparrows farting next paddock over.
