It takes an appreciation of the finer things in life GM. There are some great blended whiskies but drinking a single malt whisky from a fine distillery takes the prize as being the second best thing a man can do. It is right up there on the podium living to a ripe old age and loving a good woman.

Dad used to like getting a cold, was his excuse. Always had arguments with his big brother who liked water with his whiskey, whereas dad reckoned the water was only good for putting under bridges and boats. When I could drink I couldn't get close enough to the stuff to drink it.

Was great when their cousin came over from the old country and after staying with the uncle presented a bottle of Glenfiddich (not sure of spelling), to which my uncle replied, "You shouldn't have." So she put it back in the suitcase and presented it to dad a the end of her stay with us. Dad kept it in the cupboard and only brought it out when his brother visited, "Shall we have a drink of Your whiskey?"

Single malt Islay all the way as well as a couple of Irish ones are a good start. Johnny Walker Blue too would be my fav blend.
    Glenfiddich tastes like avgas.
Mr Jameson is waiting for you Dave

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
