You bet ya they exchanged notes. Once again we see:

The ban will be enacted through regulations approved by an order-in-council from cabinet — not through legislation.
    Sound familiar?

And the same old bullshit fear mongering rant from the lefty fuckwit.

"These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time," Trudeau said. "There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today announced a ban on some 1,500 makes and models of military-grade "assault-style" weapons in Canada, effective immediately.

Starting today, licensed gun owners will no longer be allowed to sell, transport, import or use these sorts of weapons in this country.

"As of today, the market for assault weapons in Canada is closed," Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said. "Enough is enough. Banning these firearms will save Canadian lives."
Oh yes, have to get in that it saves lives.

"You don't need an AR-15 to bring down a deer," he said.

The term "assault-style" has no legal definition in Canada. The Firearms Act also does not currently classify firearms as "military-style" — that term would have to be defined in the new regulations.

Generally speaking, an assault-style weapon is a semi-automatic firearm with an ammunition magazine, built to fire quickly. There is already a legal limit — five rounds — on the maximum size of a magazine.
So pretty much all semis are gone.

    But wait...theres more.
Today's ban does not cover handguns, the weapon of choice for gang members
    Oh my fucking god

And yet of all the guns he is banning, none of them were used in the terrorist attack in Canada but were used in other countries around the world.

Yup, Im sure he has been bare-backing cindy up the back passage while winston looks on giving instructions to the younglings. Another socialist puppet acting on instruction from the UN.
GUN CONTROL IS A TIGHT 5-SHOT GROUP.

When you compare our old system to most systems around the world it was pretty bloody good.
A little bit of tweaking and it wouldve been near perfect.

Its not only Semi auto, but anything over 20MM bore including collectors mortars. Plus anything over 10K joules energy, so all .50's are gone along with a lot of other big bore stuff. The list is 1500 weapons long.

The whole thing is a mess. They banned a locksmith in Fort St John and a Spanish electronic photo booth by accident because they don't know what they're doing.

The Liberals banned "scary assault rifles", guns with a bore diameter greater than 20mm, and guns with an energy exceeding 10,000 joules. Most of the large bore diameter gun list reads as an excerpt from Forgotten Weapons' youtube channel - it's all insanely rare prototypes and light anti tank and anti-aircraft stuff that was never sold to the public, so it's purely there to fluff up the list and make the public think "Ohhh, good thing they banned those surface to air missiles! It's amazing those were legal!" (they weren't legal in Canada anyways, but let's not let that fact ruin ol' PM Turdo's great victory.) They also re-banned some full-autos because the public recognizes the names. The muzzle energy ban hit a lot of the African big game rifles, which is going to piss off a fair number of rich gun owners that usually don't get involved because they don't think a ban will affect their bolt actions and double rifles.

They also inserted a passage at the end saying that people are going to buy more guns to replace the ones that the government took away, so they should ban whatever looks popular next time round. They didn't go all-out with a total semi-auto because a lot of gun owners in Canada use semi-autos - the SKS has become the new Enfield there, and black rifles are very common hunting guns (work well in poor conditions, give you a follow up shot when a bear, bison, or moose decides it's going to take you with it). The Liberal strategy has been to divide and conquer the shooting community for 30 years - they know they would be voted out instantly if they attacked all the lazy apathetic hunters who keep reverting back to thinking they'll be safe if they sacrifice other shooters. Fortunately, a lot of hunters are also on gun forums and tied in to social media, and the gun community is very strong, so there's already a very strong and determined push back happening. Here's hoping the Liberal government falls under the weight of its own incompetence and a Conservative government creates a new Firearms Act that deals with some of this political meddling....

"Police have said he used a handgun that was obtained in Canada and long guns that he obtained in the US, but they have not specifically said what guns he used."

He probably stole the officers service pistol. Leftard agenda stuff again. More BS

I don't get Governments opposition to anti materials rifles, unless the Government are intending on using armoured vehicles against the general population, what do they have to worry about?
An anti material/anti tank rifle is easily the worst, most inefficient firearm you could possibly use for carrying out a criminal act.

Merv had a 50 mounted in his Kill Dozer but I don't believe he actually fired it. He didn't actually hurt a soul during his rampage.
