    Rifle golf

A mate of mine has just returned from a few years spent guiding in America. He worked on a "ranch" where they mainly hunted mule deer... none of that really interested me until he said they also played rifle golf?

    "Rifle golf" I question?

He replies, "yup its exactly as it sounds, 18 targets at various ranges from 100y to 1000y. Move around the field like a game of golf, keep shooting until you hit the target (steel gongs)...lowest score overall wins!" Just like golf.

This sounds awesome, anyone doing this in NZ??? @Gillie?

I like the idea as you're rewarded for a hit by moving on, a miss means you keep shooting until you get a hit.

Sounds like it would get as expensive as real golf, for me at least

Would be a bit like the field shoots happening regularly, except not moving to the next target until you have hit it. Could work out cheap (18 rounds) or really bloody expensive (wheeled suitcase carried with golf cart).

A golf course would be pretty perfect. From short par 3's at a around 140y to decent par 5's at over 500. I'd need a cart but at least I wouldn't need 14 rifles.
Golf and shooting. The perfect combination.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
