I think I might try cutting a 5inch gong shape out off a old tip truck tyre and hang it like a gong. That way the steel wire inside will help stop it disintegrating and make it solid enough to get a good swing on when hit but the bullet should still just pass through. Pretty sure I have a big ole truck tyre lying around….just got to remember where I put it.
