    Scoring at range target shoots

Ok if there is any NZDA range shooters on here I have a question to do with scoring.
So if a shooter scores say 8 x 9 and 2 x inners which we call 10.1 is his score 92.2
If that's the case if he shoots all inners that's 10 x 10.1 what's his score is it 101 or 100.10
We are just changing some of our branch rules.
    Cheers

Yes in the first instance 92.2 is correct. In the second instance if the shooter hits 10 x 10.1's. then the score will be 100.10. Inner's are way of tie breaking and always stay as a point something. in a 60 shot match for example a shooter could end up with a score which was say 595.25.
    Hope I made that clear.

Your on the Hunter Class rules which are quite different to say the National Rimfire and C/Fire rules. What you are reading only applies to hunter class

It is less misleading (and more correct) to say One Hundred (Score) with Ten (Inners or V’s) rather than One Hundred point Ten. Then people are less likely to get confused about accumulating whole numbers from numbers after a decimal point.
It is the same in civilian Service Rifle and Military shooting and yet people still get confused about it.

As others have said it is a way of separating shooters in event of a tied match.

If you're going to score this on a computer score it as 10.01 or even 10.001 - that way 10 centrals won't add up to another point.

just been doing this very thing to put club results onto a spread sheet. The way I went was to go with the three decimal places ie one shot as a 10.1 would be recorded as 10.001 and always stick with the same format ( three decimal points) so that when someone else does the scoring they dont trecord it to two decimal points and accidently give people additional score.

If you use excel spreadsheets, put the scores and the inners/V's into a different column, and use auto add formulas.

If anyone wants a copy of my spreadsheet let me know.
