Had another fail today.
Hot piece of 9mm brass got stuck between glasses and eyebrow - yip, it tickled real good.
Last hot one was 223 brass between toes straight from the action of AR (yeah yeah - shouldnt have been wearing my jandels)

Probably a good idea to wear budgiesmugglers Spanners if you a naturalist....a hot case on the oldfulla could be interesting :yaeh am not durnk:
LOL
Remembered some more:
Loaded almost 100 rds of 223 with no primers..
Loaded 80 odd with no powder

Philipo - 'hmm.. my 1st batch of 308 handloads dont fit my BAR very well - its stuck'

This backwards FMJ .308 subsonic round will be mint!
poof - ZIIIIIIIIING (tumbles)

pehhhh - cloud of smoke out of action - no ziiing - projectile stuck in barrel - tap tap tap tap tap tap tap :x_x:
(all while trying to look cool at a LR shoot :pacman:)
I have had brass go straight down the gumboot straight from the ar
I occasionally used to shoot a Marlin semiauto 17M2 belonging to FnH user Gordy (don't think he's on this forum yet).
It was a perfect demonstration of the poor quality of early semiauto M2s, had a few cases rupture and spit gunpowder at my face :XD:
Firing my home made suppressor
Filling a 223 round to the rim with 2207
load devolopment....... need I say more
shooting at a rabbit sitting next to a flat rock with 9 ball buck shot
having to take another bolt to the gunsmith with yet another flat ejector spring
nearly got to see the rifling on an old 22-243 without looking down the barrel
Firing a 300wm with a big brake for the first time with no ear muffs and shooting from inside the garage because of rain
Firing 4 inch nails from my 22 using ramset blanks
firing arrows at carp (fish) from a cut down 410 shotgun....
I could go on;)
Some of those arn't fails Gav - they're WINS!
Lamping bunny's (legaly of course ) driving and holding the lamp while mate was out the moon roof and a rain of hot 22lr shells came inside and straight down my front burning my nipple:D Im a welder and used to serious burns without flinching but have to admit to letting out a girly squeal.
After a LR gong shoot shooting some sausages, first shot neck/miss, second shot neck/ miss, 3rd shot crease/ hit in arse.
Whoops had lost my windage zero:faill:
Once upon a time, a mate was chasing a lil wee rabbit around the hill at around 800-900 yards (can't remember the exact distance sorry). Eventually gave up, and spotted some skippys around the 100 yard mark. Needless to say, fired a couple rounds that way to no avail.. Was thinking wtf, til he realised that the scope was off by one whole revolution.. :) Wont say who this is, but he'll be reading :D
My mate has the best hole in his truck from shooting across the bonnet.
Through bonnet, battery and out the other side
Thought I would make an AK brass catcher based on photos of the proper Valmet one.
Half an ice cream container, gaffer tape and velcro took a while to tune and reshape.
1. Had to cut the bottom out, as the hot .308 brass soon melted my fancy netting bag.
2. Cut too much the back out, so hot .308 brass then landed on my knuckles and occasionaly went down my sleeve. Still have a nice brass shaped scar on my wrist. :D
Version 2.0 is working a bit better.
Discovered you have to watch these short barrel truck 22s. Driving alone on station with both windows half down and rifle pointing out drivers side. Spotted bunny out passenger's window so moved to left, lined it up and blew the passenger's window out - glass started just under the scope.
Mate's truck...
Nek minit..
My old man was unloading an old 1906 .22 in the wash house, it was worn and if you held the trigger while pumping the action it would fire ,bit like a semi, he was working the action to check all the rounds had slid out of the tube mag but had his finger resting a little to hard on the trigger, had it pointing up wards in a safe direction as usual so no one was hurt when it went off, bullet went through a box of pears sitting on a high shelf through a pink plastic potty and out through the wall clipping a water pipe on the way.
I then got a lecture about gun safety
My granddad did the exact same thing with what sounds like the same rifle except he was pointing it down and it whent into the floor between Grandmas feet! It used to and still does occasionally stick the last round in the tube. He was not popular.
They have both been gone for years now but this still gets brought up at family gatherings
yeah I still have it and holding one in the tube is always an issue ,same with my grandads one which I have and my marlin m60 dose it ocasionaly as does the miroku ML 22. Just something to be aware of with tube mags.
me an the brother when where younger had a 303 each an loooottttsssss of grandads an uncles armor percing rounds 12 cake tins full:thumbsup:
but they where shocking an having the rim split,,,,we where dumb an young an wanted to blast them but around every 1 in 20 stained your faces with the powder coming out the back:O_O: kind of bad now thinking back we kept blatting away
Crikey that reminds me of one of our first outings shooting rabbits with the good old $80 .303 (slight bulge in barrel) and banging off a pile of manky tarnished old ammo from the Petone gunstores hidden depths
a magazine went like: boom, click, click, hangfire, boom, hangfire, click - never thought anything of it at the time
Not to mention that we were spotlighting with a little torch and having to hold it behind the action so we could use the iron sights :pacman:
First reloading press lee c-frame resizing 308 brass using hornady one shot case jammed in sizing die went to H&F and bought stuck case remover attempted to remove stuck case in c-frame press broke press clean off its base and handle snapped in two.......oooops
Found out today why you're meant to run new brass through a FL die. Projectile stuck in throat... lucky I saved that cartridge for last to see if it made a a difference
Oops this gotta hurt

44mag did the damage
I reckon its Adams, he walks all funny since your trip:yaeh am not durnk:
I saw a lady at a pistol range take a .22 case down the front. It got stuck in her bra and burned her. She was less than pleased...
Went out to range one day but had real trouble getting rifle to perform well. Left the bolt at home.
I did this with an axe when I was about 8. Was up a tree down at the river near our house using it to chop branches off to whittle into spears, dropped the axe from the tree, was hit by a spray of water.
How was I supposed to know that my neighbour was pumping and purifying his drinking water from the river?! Nothing that a roll of insulation tape didn't fix though. Went down there a couple of years back and it's still holding strong.
Rushing to shoot a bull tahr that was onto me, put bipod out, bang...... Blew a rock to pieces right in front of the barrel
Lamping bunnies in back seat of hilux surf, bunnie was running to my right ended up with the shotty resting on my chest to get the barrel round enough bang....... Got coverd in glass....... Action collected the window on way back
It drying the cases long enough after the ultra sonic, all my reloads went click
Is it who I think it is? I have seen you shoot groups like that so you are not talking about yourself. That group on yer toe is a good example:pacman: I would have to shoot from 1K standing unsupported for my groups to open up that much:yaeh am not durnk: Na I just have never shot a .3 inch group so it isnt me.
G'Day Fella's,
I once seen a empty .300 Win Mag case from a BAR, go straight through the windscreen of a Land Cruiser I was driving.
That got my attention!!!
Luckily, it wasn't My LC, it was the shooters!!!
Double Doh!!
Homer
Leaning out the window shooting rosella's out of the chestnut tree with a semi 22lr and got a hot shell down my arse crack. Nearly jumped out the window
:D
