A big octagonal barrel in 45 cal, it was a tackdriver but weighed nearly 10 pounds in the stock i made for it from eucalyptus. The barrel was repurposed later into a rolling block in 45/70. He was based in the hawkes bay if i remember correctly and made a lot of good stuff. If its a genuine Hawkins then its a piece of NZ firearms history.

He was in Onehunga Auckland, passed away quite young. He was very talented, but like us all could still stuff up.
