That is a worry, it was always one of the best in my jw for both accuracy and terminal performance.
Perhaps they are making it Shit to boost sales of the 42gr? Stranger things have happened.

The 42gr stuff is excellent, but it's twice the price of anything else.

It's well known that rimfires don't require long barrel lengths to achieve their max vel. Traditionally, 16" was quoted as the length where vel maxes out and in fact longer barrels can deliver lower vels.

I recall reading not so long ago someone getting useful vels out out a very short rimfire barrel, maybe 10"

The main .22 ammo I use for hunting is cci subsonic and it seems to have the practically the same drop out of my 12" 10/22 as my 15" cz.
The long barrel Annie seems to do a little better.

I really should run them over a crono one day

shot a few bunny's with it the other day normally use PowerPoint HV but this was the only ammo the local RD1 had in stock took me one or two shots to work out where it was going then shot 8 bunnys from 10-80m seemed to kill well mind you I take head/neck shots so not really a test for stopping power
also shot a turkey as the farmer wants the numbers culled abit they keep moving there heads so pretty hard for a headshot so I put it trough the chest took 2 in the chest and one in the head to finish the job hence I didn't shoot anymore ill go back with the 223 for that

so i had a chance to punch some paper with these this morning.
Norinco JW15A, Outdoor Optics 4x32, remington bipod. Lying on my deck shooting across the lawn. I'm no marksman and the rifle is untouched apart from a few cleans since i bought it about 4 years ago.

    25 yards, 10 shots

then moved out to 40 yards and gave the scope 4 clicks left, 10 shots
res, PERRISCICABA and Muttonguts like this.
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.
