Upon inspection we were somewhat dismayed to note that it was a brush-tailed possum.

I assume that, because wallabies and possums are introduced species, they're pretty much on the open shooting menu in NZ !? In contrast, here in NSW you need to be licensed and issued with a set number of tags for culling specified roo species, by the Office of Environment & Heritage
Welcome mate, yes, as mentioned, you are welcome to liquidate many of your OZ exports to our shores... ie possums, wallabies, magpies and silver crested cuckatoos. All are pests and need to be safely disposed of.
    Welcome to Sako club.

Neckshot you sort of have to go past me to get to BOI. It would be rude not to swing by

You Kiwi's appear to have your own lingo !! Given time I'll endeavour to wrap my head around it. Just curious, is there much rivalry between the North and South Islands, such as with the State of Origin NSW / QLD Rugby League ?

Not north and south as such .... Which is a shame ... The north / south match was good. There's talk of reinstating the fixture

    Nowadays more Canterbury vs Auckland

Seeing as you drive on the correct side of the road i will tell you the south.
If you were from America i would have had to say the north
