Congrats on your awesome mountain goat, that's a dream hunt of mine. Its a bugger the BC regulations don't allow DIY or hunter hosting for us non resident "aliens". If I understand the regulations correctly we can only hunt with a guide?

you can hunt ptarmigan, grouse, snowshoe hares, ducks, geese etc without a guide. "Big game" unfortunately requires a guide, their lobby made sure of that. The hunts are epic regardless who pulls the trigger in the end...
