    South African - New guy

    Hi Everyone,

Dirk here. Moved from Cape Town - South Africa to Wellington. Been hunting for 20 years (from I was 8 years old) and recent years started enjoying the long range/competition shooting as well.

Currently busy with my license, looking at options like the Howa Bravo (6.5 creedmoor, although 6mm creed would've been nice but dies, brass etc a bit scarce), and will be reloading. Great people in NZ and keen to learn from everyone here.

If anyone is selling 6.5 kit or even a nice rifle, please let me know.

    Regards

    Hartelik welkom Dirk.

There are a few of us "retread" South Africans on the forum. Forum is a great resource and community. There are some pretty knowledgeable folks here.

    Dankie Ryan,

Always appreciate advice and learning from others. Hopefully I'll be able to help others as well.

If anyone has questions on 300wsm loads, general info. feel free to ask. Have spent quite a lot of time behind one (load development etc) and will help where I can

Welcome Dirk. When are you getting an All Black's and Crusaders Jersey?

I stop teasing for good Biltong.

Whatever you do, do not buy the Jacklinks "biltong" in the shop! Fred's Fine Foods has been my "go to" biltong / droëwors provider for years. They will post too. If, like me, you prefer your 'wors and biltong dry I'd recommend getting in now before the weather starts turning damp. Their stock flies out the door as it is but during winter there's insufficient time for it to dry properly so it's "wet".

    Welcome along.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Welcome Dirk, I'm sorry you have arrived at a time when our country is in such turmoil. There are plenty of good bugga's on the forum.

Welcome mate, excuse the fact that most of this country is running around like headless chickens.

    Welkom Dirk.

Good choice of weapon and calibre. Their aint a lot of LR shoots in this area of NZ.

Maybe we should get everyone interested on the same page and organize our own shoot? I've organized 100s if not more shoots while still in SA.

    Regard
    Jaco(also a NewKiwi)

    Hi Jaco,

I'd be keen to be involved. Just need my license first haha.

I'm sure there will be a lot of interest once people are introduced to it.
