Did the trigger get pulled?
No. Still have a freezer full so these two can fatten up a bit more. Amazing how close I could get to them with a red head torch and the wind right.
So what brand and model you useing guys for taking photos.

Good contrast. What distance?
Yeah the zeiss is bloody good , 3/35 is their open country model and the smaller one has wider field of view for in the bush etc. Easily picks up animals at ranges of 1500m’s .

infiray e6 v3 would have been about 250m to the house and almost 400 to the big guy on his own, antlers sure stick out when they are in velvet need to look a bit more often, have seen 6 out on the same spot in the past
These young lads about 300yds away in the drizzley rain at 7.30pm.They were well trained not to stand still, lucky for them.

Couple of deer out for their last walk.
I left the thermal vid running allnight.Took 3 nights to catch the little bastard.I had the trap on the edge of trigger plate hole.Tide the cheese n peanut butter mix on really good.Just befor trap went bang,he was on all 4s standing on trigger plate, really aggressive tugging on cheese in cotton trying to get it off.Trap caught his right back leg.Dragged the trap over end of freezer, meter drop to the floor,he tryed to get under freezer but the trap stopped him.I found him next morning alive wriggling the trap.20oz hammer put him out of pain.I have a bloody good vid of him on the trap befor the trigger let go.But can't get vid on here.

Very shootable deers there altho might be a bit thin at this time of the year.
Infinitely better starting the night with a thermal, than just heading off with a night vision scope.
Effective illumination range is just not a consideration, so I can plan the hunt with ease. I know which paddocks have livestock, and which directions not to shoot before making a start.
Photo is definitely not as exciting as some.

I had to look up the meaning of "Fudd" yesterday because the term was unfamiliar to me. Now I have come across another new term which is equally unfamiliar to me; "non target species". Surely there is no such thing? I dont understand?? They just look like deer to me. :) :)
