Personaly I wouldn't bother on a 6.5 and below.... infact I have yet to brake my SAUM, well I did test one that went well but shortened the barrel so cut the thread off and not put another on yet... probably wont

But any brake is not the same as another... a few minor angle changes can masivley change the effectivness of a brake... as can the hole size in the center

If that 243 brake was well designed the recoil would be zero

Have a look at the video in the first post, here it is again

If the brake on your 243 isn't reducing recoil it is an ornament not a brake....

A good brake will make a noticable difference on any calibre even a .223.

I could fire my 308 Montana single handed with a T2 on it

it reduces bugger all now i have taken it off, i am not even bothering to brake my 264 Winmag. even with 95gr sst the 243 kicks bugger all an ornament is the best way to disscribe the brake. plus i am not wearing earmuffs hunting just to have a muzzlebrake

One thing that gutted me with the .300wsm was having to make sure I have hearing protection.

Yep always said if you were going to have a braked rifle have a big one

Guys use the brakes on the "little" rifles on the range, shooting steel etc & generally take them off when hunting.

You absolutely have to use hearing protection if you are going to fire a braked rifle...
