    None of those are good for your fire and flue especially a salt based.

    Just too correct a statement earlier it isn't a pot belly just has a dampener like one in a hut, it's an old pioner made from seriously thick steel and brass trimmings

    Ok same still applies remove top baffle and wrap complete fire an clean from the top.

    Caught a 2 story high flue alight by burning a bucket of trawl net trimmings.
    Flames were coming out the top like a blowtorch and it was perfectly clean when it finally went out.
    Wife got a bit upset though.

    Hmmm now where to get a stack of net trimmings.... Tried doing a hot burn with lots of kindling but didn't improve things

    This one came out through a block wall then up the outside so fairly safe.
    The longer the flue the dirtier it gets.

    After a flue has a reasonable chimney fire , its recommend that it gets replaced . It weakens the Stainless . I have replaced a few because the firemen that attended, had requested the owner get it replaced.
