Put a deadbolt on the basement door. Reinforce it if you can.

Try to put the safe where it's hard for someone trying to break in to access the locks and hinges or swing a hammer.Out of sight in a cupboard helps too.

Make sure the keys are in at least the same level of security as the guns themselves.
