That works IF the firearms your registering are on their list, if not the phoning begins.

If anyone from the FSA is reading this, a quick suggestion. Ive used the phone registry a couple of times in the last year and it takes too long to get through. But when you do get through, 65% of the time it takes to register a firearm is in listening to privacy policy and obligations.
Instead you could speed the process up by either asking if we need them read, or directing us to read them online.
Its an unnecessary cost in time for both us and you.
Yep, their database is sadly lacking, the ONLY Firearm I've been able to register without calling them was the Rossi 22/10. After the millions they spent setting it up, you'd think they'd have put some time into getting a reasonably exhaustive database compiled, pretty sure if they got hold of all the firearm manufacturers they'd be able to get a list of all the guns they make/have made.....hardly rocket science
Don't think any allowance or thought went into the caliber choices outside the very basic factory availability, no consideration to the rebarreling or chamber reaming availability of calibers.
Yup too specific. Shouldve made it way more basic, almost spreadsheet. Who cares if it's a 4 or 5 shot.
Make model action calibre and serial number in the most basic form you could do. Lee enfield No 1 mk3 303, howa 1500 308 etc. But no they had to get specific with mag capacity etc
What a curious thing to say.
Because it's the law. Just because the police dont know you are breaking the law doesn't make it legal. They will know if someone tell them, just like if someone tells on you for buying ten thousand dollars of hydroponic equipment to put in your state house. Doesnt make growing drugs legal because they havnt found your marijuana plants yet.
Have you actually tried phoning the police outside hours? After almost 15min of waiting for someone to answer I just hung up and thought well mate tonight was your lucky night after witnessing someone running into a car backing out and driving off.
I needed to be somewhere and didn't want to get caught for using a phone while driving
Has anyone registered a rifle built on a BAT Machine action?
The reason I ask is because I went to register a rifle tonight built on a BAT SV action and when I selected "Bat Machine" and "SV" it bought up a few different calibres, none were the same as mine, but the concerning thing is it lists the BAT SV as a "break action"!!!!!!!!! Huh??
I'm stumped I would have thought a bolt action would be listed as a bolt action have the firearms authority got a different description for "bolt action" actions?
A lot of the Lee Enfield models are the same - listed as a break action even the single shot converted .22 bolt action trainers. Very weird - and I was wondering if it was just someone selecting the nearest most right looking description line and not realising that the "break action" bit was completely wrong???
As I've mentioned previously when I have to register mine later this year it will be interesting, not many standard factory rifles with saami chamberings
They all will be registered as what they actually are with the correct make, model, action type & cartridge otherwise what is the actual point of the register......
If it ever goes sideways for what ever reason, "this bolt action firearm is not a break open action, so where is the break open action firearm you registered Sir ?" is not a conversation I want to have in the future, especially being a Dealer
