Contesting Load data is irrelevant without complete barrel/chamber/ lead and throat specs.
Ask Carlock if you can have his Edge +P specs, there you will find your clues, and the same answer :)

I know what the edge +p is but still would like to know load for that speed? Way I see is, to scared to post must be hot?
my screamer is 102.5gr of us869 at 180gr hybrid at 90.25mm oal 215m primer for a honest 3300 give or take 40 for different tubes but I only tried 4 tubes as only done 4. This load is not hot but does all it has to do

Ok, so you know what the Edge+ P is, now you want to find out how it works so well.
In a helpful manner my post suggested you email Carlock to get his throat/barrel specifications that enabled him to achieve such high speeds with little pressure gains, this info will be very valuable to you, and will answer any further questions you have, professionally.
You and Carlock are gunsmiths, i know there is no way you guys trust being educated from the internet, you have qualified in your respective fields well enough for the general public to trust your training with 55,000 psi so close to their face.
In every way, its you guys that already know this stuff, gain popularity by educating us, and for that we will all be thankful.
Hi 404 Hornady brass $71.00 per 20 or Norma 404 brass $225 per 50 cases would be easier to use 7mm Dakota brass !!!
Many thanks quentin, much appreciated.

Is that loaded?
that is for brass !
Tussock you are a mile off with the parent case. you will all have to set and wait and see !!!
because like you say been done an its 2.875" long an the 7mm rum in my mind is the biggest un efficent lomon of the rums down load the rum an you have a rem mag/ suam
when young crnkin had his 7mm rum still max load with 2225 an he just made 3k with 180s 3010fps think it was my screamer with same charge was 250 faster......
Our case that we are using is neck down, little turn, flash form an go offers easy dies an nice redding bushing dies even comp dies if you want them.
Barrel will last longer than the rum barrel, brass is better than rum brass, an will match rum speeds........normal rum speeds
I dont get all the anti going on. Your all asking why?what for, i think its cause he want to and he can. If i had half his skill set or access to half the gear i would be doing much more redundant and pointless excersises just for shits n giggles. This seems like a worthy cal and your all shooting it down without knowing its full capabilities or properties. I see a giant fuck off 7mm in my future , I personally dont get all the nay saying and nit picking that goes on here i mean what a awsome group of knowledgable chaps we have most of who are willing to offer free advice and troubleshooting. Ive seen it happen on the other forum were people like this get sick of the shit and stop answering i think that would be a real shame to repeat the same mistake over a bit of ego or black cats blacker syndrome.

:D looks like you have stirred up some real interest Abe. I havnt seen this sort of scratching on any other sections in this forum
Yea you should try getting two cats in a bath...

It's a dictionary and they spell two as to in a sentence.
I like a gun that goes BANG! And what I was pointing at is laid out flat. Shiiiiit . . . I'll let others worry about the prep . . . hehehehe
Man, I a bit gutted I can't get 3,400fps with my big 7mm with 180's. Might have to go back to a RUM, but then I was only getting about 3,300fps out of that with 160's and cases were only good for 3 firings... :wtfsmilie:
Oh, and I know what the parent case is... But I'm not telling :D
Really???
Someone makes a claim of X case and Y speed and it gets shot to pieces as it cant be done safely due to'pressure'
Someone else does the same thing on Z case and all of a sudden the laws of physics don't apply??
Seriously... If the world as we know it has just changed and substantial progress has been made to what we know and what supposably was the limit of centrefire cartridge loading then there has to be that data and info available.
If not, then it's 6 months later and hands on cocks and hypocrites.
You can't honestly expect the same questions not to be asked about the same claims
So last time this got asked all you said where cases where 'cut, inspected an measured'?
When the speed claims where coming off how many shots? Got claimed to be chambering after 4 firings? an no F/L needed
Well if that load is hot then i can go one better, have fired.......................672 out the 1st barrel a half shagged 7mm rem mag standard sendero tube.................513 throught this last tube an ................(54 through this tube, new brass so dont count)
Have NEVER had to body die to bump them the first 100 cases yet an an they done 1185 rounds, firing 150 swifts,160 AB, 162 a-max, 168 bergers, 180 bergers pushed them all till i had flat primer an light ejector mark, its a rem bolt so we all know how easy these can an do mark cases. Annealed cases every 3 firings an pockets still tight brass is still been used on that last tube its on another action. The odd on that was tight got put in the bush load pile an put down to brass been bit different to the rest.
We are talking norma brass also here not big cheytac cases........................
So your right must be fucken hot:thumbsup:
It looks to me like there could not possibly be a "right" answer to that question.
Its been thrashed already but you know that.
Brass is fine= you must be using hard brass and it doesn't show pressure like normal so you are over stressing action.
I used a strain gauge and got xyz =
That is too high a pressure.
Your numbers are meaningless due to the variables inhernt in that system.
Im not posting pressures as they are meaningless = so you must be overloading then if you won't post pressure and you have the gear.
A strong action and brass can safely exceed accepted "normal" pressure and is a product of evolution or we would all be shooting 303s etc.= i forget, where did that thread end up?
Constant digs between two members and there mates going in to bat on behalf round and round is wearing thin.
Im friends with the two main targets, when i get a build i will probably end up paying full price at robbies or somewhere cos i don't want to face the why did you get him to build it instead of me .

I didnt mean to imply anything was too hot or overloaded, I was simply putting the shoe out to go on the other foot
All sorts of numbers and results were thrown around for and against 6-12 months ago, the tables have turned and what was said that wasnt achievable then, is now for some strange reason.
Would be far to easy to simply quote comments and use it against the original author, and to point out facts like what was getting called 'dangerous' by one person was infact the EXACT same load that was being loaded by them for their customers.
It really boils down nothing more than a game of dick waving and hypocritical statements.
There is LOTS of cool stuff happening around NZ, and alot of it will never come to the light of day as for the simple reason that the people involved cant be fucked dealing with those that knock it for prob no more reason than they were beaten to the punch.
Im not talking the usual few thou smaller, few thou bigger 'game changers' than appear every 5 mins, but things that have NEVER been done before like new proprietary cases, calibrated terminal ballistic testing, and there is something that maybe only 2 people in the world are doing that reduces indicated signs of pressure in the same case, same loading and same chamber dimensions, and which in itself is SO simple and easy to be justified scientifically however they cant be fucked dealing with the situation of which rung on the ladder they belong on that seems to be all too common when it comes to something 'new'. Its not just here, you see it on every forum that has anything to do with new and different wildcats
The benchmark has been raised anyway; 3300fps with a 300 Berger :D :ORLY:
KG raised that benchmark himself with a 300gr Berger at 3500fps.
My big 7mm (Fatmax), which (I'm assuming, so could be very wrong) is almost identical To Abe's 7mm screamer is pushing a 180gr hybrid at 3,300fps. 100gr of US869, 215GM primers, Norma brass, very similar OAL. Measured at 65,000psi with this load, using a Remington 700 action.
My 338 Lunatic, pushes a 300gr Hybrid at just under 3,300fps. Approx 140gr gr US869, 215GM primers, Jamison Brass. 67,500psi, Barnard P-Chey.
They could both push their projectiles faster I'm sure, heaps of available powder space to do that, but until there is some concrete, well documented evidence, from a well respected gun expert etc I'm happy to stick with the pressure as loaded above.
I have a wife, 2 kids, a good job, nice house etc, and quite frankly, I'm not going to trade that for a 100-200fps gain on the cloak and dagger advice/ramblings of some idiot that won't cough up any real data.
That is all I am going to say on this subject. I'm tired of it and the complaining that enviably follows when the pressure question is asked after load data is posted that gives velocities clearly/substantially above what has been the reported norm for a particular chambering. Why post these numbers if you are not willing to provide some data?
I said I had finished talking about pressure... I lied...
I agree that the pressures I stated will not be exact, maybe there is a +/- 5% error (I don't know?), so maybe my pressure is 62,000psi, or 68,000psi, or somewhere inbetween.
I guess the point I was trying to make is that I am happy to stick to the pressures I am running (which might be different by +/- 5%) and be potentially short changing myself out of some velocity. In the absence of some real data to show me that I could safely run more pressure for a long period of time, I'm not going to change.
If the velocities being thrown around are backed up with a statement of "using my pressure testing gear this load tested at xx,xxxpsi" and that happened to be 3,400fps at 65,000psi, then I will be genuinely impressed and will congratulate the person that designed the throat/case/chamber (or whatever the secret is?) and would be interested in parting with some of my hard earned cash to get onboard. Until then, I will just shake my head and carry on blissfully with what I have...
Was really a rhetorical question...
You can be given all the data in the world, but if it differs from is given to you by who you want to follow, then what actual point is there as it will just be slated 'wrong'
If I presented data hypothetically for say 300gr @ 3500 on a off the shelf action @ 65000psi there would be all sorts of BS and 'unsafe' called out because the data (some of it obtained from a known non-quantifiable device) differs
How can you ever get acceptance???
As I stated prior, there is lot going on and data that will never see the light of day for the simple fact that it is 'differs' and will be shot down... some of it is over 5 yrs old and shot damn near daily.
No comment to my post spanners?
Is this where I pack a tanty and get all this deleted?:D
Forums would be boring without it
