Only met GM a couple of times, but always struck me as someone to aspire to be like. Quiet, measured comments, and always worth digesting before answering back to. Appeared to give more of everything to everyone else than he took back in return. And always a battler with his aliments, striving to get back on top off things, while scoffing about it saying it's nothing to bad. His humour and knowledge will be sorely missed. Thoughts to all the Reid family, live in the knowledge that Brian was a well respected member of society. Go well GM

Was very sadden to hear of GM passing, ( another forum steward gone ) I only meet him a handful of times but always enjoyed his yarns n company, crickey he put up with a lot from us juiced up fullas at these events & was always a gentleman.

The world needs more people like Brian, Quirky n outta the gate at times but always happy n genuine, like who enjoys sleeping in a tent at a camp ground when it's snowing while we're all in cabins hahahaha

Will miss you mate & will give what I think is the highest of accolades in Kiwi culture Ya a GC bro

Bunnies would run 100-150m then stop for a lookie - Boom! Popped 300+ in an evening on that site.

On another occasion we wandered into a nice little spot down there and had a very enjoyable evening. Not big numbers but about 75-80 bunnies, then 25 wallabies, and 3 deer. One of them Brian's first deer. Happy boy

And this is why you should do the stuff you always wanted to do sooner rather than later - because you may not make it to actually do it .

    RIP Gadgetman

    Bugger.

RIP Gadgetman, I never met you in person but we did pm on a couple of subjects and you were always the positive one. The forum will be the poorer without you.

I'd like to check out the way that Brian did - on a hunting trip

Great guy, only talked to him through this forum, I wish TR the best of luck navigating all of the crap that has to be gone through when burying a parent - you are busy as fuck then it all goes away and you wonder what it all stood for

Because we are practical people I'll take this moment to remind all of you ugly bastards - what would happen if you got hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow?
Is there a list of where all of the contact details are held?
    Passwords?
    Investments?
    Pets dietary requirements?

How would you all like the world to carry on your affairs seamlessly if you snuffed it?

Same as for a power cut, it's always worthwhile to have a plan

That comes as a bit of a shock. Meet GM and TR at the Toby Shoot at BRADS many years back, great man to talk to. I always enjoyed his input on the forum. I suppose if you have to go then his passing was the best you could have, RIP Brian. Condolences to TR and family in this trying time.

@TimeRider I am so sorry to hear this. Brian was very helpful and a very lovely person. While I only met him a few times, he left an impression of kindness that will be missed by all. Unfrotunately I have experienced what you are going through and my thoughts, prayers and condolences are with you and your family at this time.
