There are pockets of goats but you may have noticed that the goat numbers around Waipatiki all the way back through to the Napier Taupo road are the lowest they have been for decades. Also a few of...

Micky I have just had a conversation with my range and am happy to advise that it now self identifies as a Pétanque court with steel baubles.

You are not going to be forgotten, Mike. Nor how Judith Collins barked at you like a mad dog. But at least you got to see her fall.

Maybe I'm wrong but having read the link it sounded like deer were coming out of public land, rather than have a go at the farmers surrounding the public why not get in there at the source an shoot...

You are onto it. Mate with a thermal sees dozens all over the place. Open up on them though, and you'll be lucky to get two-three of them. They are not silly.

Interesting thread. Lots of great opinions based on practical experience. My opinion is that aerial shooting is the only answer. There are just too many deer for private hunters to deal with. We...

For myself it normally a day to walk in and a day walking out, some places it’s two days to get into areas where the numbers are really high, so I just fill up with back steaks from 2 to 6 deer....

Agreed. At the end of the day, its no different to choosing a rifle calibre. You don't shoot everything with a 45-70, although you could (and one of my brothers would). IR NV for its price, is...
