I went down to Pureora yesterday, raining when I got there, but set up the tent, put on the wet weathers and off to check out a couple of handy gullies the deer seem to like. Some very fresh sign but...

Curious. What is the purpose of the pole? Are you looking for an area where a cull would be most beneficial ?

Why start at 69 (nice) bloody inches and not go down to like 10??? I recon 16.5" + DPT can is the thinking man's choice.

Here's a thought- get another suppressed barrel for the Brno and put the original aside. No harm done in the end, you can always swap back.

I kind do it a similar way to Nathan, but the opposite. I don’t bother with the gut or ring piece. Start with deer on its back, remove the legs via hip joint, leaving skin across the back to join...

Sorry to derail my own thread, but on the scope front, there is the VX5 2-10x42 which would make a good all rounder if you have a spare $2K. Any other contenders?
