    I have sometimes skinned the front, and cut through just in front of the pelvis. Wrap skin around hindquarters like The bomb. And bone out the rest of the carcass

    Just a wee thing I took for granted,untill the other evening when I whipped out knife and had deer into 3 managable lumps to carry..and the two chaps I was with,both older than me and both...

    Sorry to derail my own thread, but on the scope front, there is the VX5 2-10x42 which would make a good all rounder if you have a spare $2K. Any other contenders?

    just because others are called long range mountain rifle..doesnt mean you cant carry in bush and shoot deer at 10 yards either......but its friggin sight harder with scope that only goes down to 5x...

    Think Beretta have imported 300 of them. Just because you call it a bush pig doesn't mean you can't shot it in the "open" MD. The 2.5-10 sounds like a good option.

    well it saves the usual get it and chop it before even shooting it..... pity the orange panels arent on it...hopefully it will come with some decent bush orientated optic choices.....1-5 2---8 or...

    Good luck, I hope it straightens him out. Decades ago the shepherd on the family farm used to get sent his rellies from South Auckland who were causing trouble. One of them didn't work out so well....

    I feel like shouldering a rifle and looking down the barrel should be intuitive (like pointing a stick or spirit level).... but obviously it's not.
