    I'm curious why you want to restrict yourself to varmint projectiles for shooting deer ? Personally I would rather go for a more traditional projectile, something like a Sierra Gameking, or Barnes...

    A hind is either pregnant or lactating virtually all year round. Reds generally drop their Fawns late nov-early dec. By end of Feb a fawn should have a high chance of survival without mum.
