2950 with a 140 in a 6.5-284 is about the right balance between velocity, and case life so would think you would want much more velocity in the similar capacity 06 case. Another 50-100 fps maybe?

Robh500, make sure you lube inside the case mouths and also rub a bit of lube on the sizing button. You will notice the difference.

Jakewire, I have had issues getting SSTs to shoot in some rifles also. In the 06 try a good 150 grain cup and core with 2209 start at about 57 and go to 60. 60 will give you close to 3000 fps....
