   While I agree in part I think the country you hunt rather than the game you hunt decides both the ideal caliber and the marginal calibers.

   Complete waste of time! Just nip them up firmly with a drop of LocTite on the threads (bases only). After fitting literally thousands of scopes over the past 60 years I believe torquing scope screws...

    F class is 223 and 308. 223 does ok at 1000. Pretty much the same drop as 308 depending on projectile, just more affected by the wind. I've been well outclassed by an 80-something year old with a 223...
