Actually to be fair bringinh one to use in the tops but accepting if the weather hits you are going to have to drop back to a more substantial base camp in a valley might work out but even then.

But you also want a light handy scope that is quick on target in the bush. How would a quick detach mount and two scopes work for you ? would make the rifle very versatile

If its set up properly, is easy to extract, the extractor should be under no stress & shouldn't ever break. Something is wrong, replacing the extractor isn't the answer.

That tiny a hole and such a fine pitch, no thanks :D Using a boring bar and HSS cutter, don't have carbide tooling for threading yet, so there is a limit to how small a diameter I'd look at doing.
