How about a 7.62x39 necked down to 7mm (or even down to 6.5mm) It would be great for anything inside 200m and fit in your standard AK/AR. By the way I voted long action, coz it gives us options.

Yip, I run 2217 in my 7mm Rem Mag. I do know of guys running 2213 in there 7mm with lighter projectiles....ie 120-140gr

I had a one piece SS rail on top of mine. Any tikka rail will fit as the receivers are all the same.
