ive found a significant difference with a 165 gr 30 cal from the 308 to a 300 short mag, that extra 400 fps is devastating.

In the past I used quite a lot of 52 grain bullets, nosler shots I think they were called. I was told they were developed for roo shooting in Australia.

That is very unusual , I would say you got lucky. My 223 needed 6.4cm on the y axis and 4.8 on the X while my 243 is Y=3.2 and X= 8 cm . Its not precise as the "clicks" are 1.5cm but not bad and...
