isnt it weird/sad that we the shooting community keep making same mistakes/relearn same lesson, year in ,year out..... if you look at critisism levels at the .224s as a whole, for use on deer.........

Same. I foolishly shot a Fallow buck in the neck a few days ago. Silly thing to do with their current big pre-roar necks. Bullet didn't break the spine and I was lucky to get one into his shoulder....

Another vote for the 165gr SST. Superb bullet out of a 308 at moderate 2,500-2650 velocities. Or if you can get them 165gr Nosler Partitions - another superb bullet.

Cool thanks that makes me feel better about the lack of camera but not the tahr. Was a sightseeing trip with the partner but will swap her for the rifle next trip

Yeah I've seen stags and bulls hanging out. They don't seem to be bothered. Should have shot the bulls, Oteake is outside feral range for tahr

typically vertical dispersion is inconsistency in how you control the recoil ie holding tightness inconsistency grip/or butt pressure ect horizontal dispersion is grip and not lining up directly...
